The Mokauiti station was commissioned in 1963. Situated on the side of the Mokauiti river, the water is dammed approximately 1km upstream of the station,
then piped through a hill to drive two turbines.

Piriaka Hydro StationThe Piriaka station was commissioned in 1924. Situated on the side of the Wanganui river, a small open canal leads to a underground penstock which forks just before the station. Originally the station was built to supply electricity to Taumarunui. In 1938 an agreement was signed with the Government to connect the local system to the national grid as a result of Taumarunui's population growth. An additional generator was added in 1971.

The Wairere station was commissioned in 1925 with only one turbine. Three more turbines were added between 1938 and 1981. The dam is 3.5 metres high
and is located above the Wairere falls on the Mokau river.
