Long-term partnerships with other energy companies such as OMV and Shell provide access to pooled resources and expertise when developing new gas fields such as the Pohokura field. Todd Energy also partners with large energy users to provide tailored solutions for complex business needs. For example, when Fonterra required huge amounts of energy to power their Whareroa Production Factory in Hawera, they partnered with Todd Energy to construct and operate the gas-powered Whareroa Co-generation plant. Fonterra’s Whareroa facility is the largest dairy factory in the southern hemisphere and the co-generation plant provides all of its energy needs - over a million tonnes of steam per year and enough electricity to power a city the size of Napier. Todd Energy is also actively investigating and developing new generation options including hydro, wind-power, co-generation and new technologies that utilise the mix of skills and assets held by Todd Energy together with those of our various joint venture partners. The Todd Energy team continually assesses new opportunities to work in partnership with other energy companies, technology businesses and energy users alike, wherever Todd Energy is able to leverage our expertise and resources to make a partnership a commercial success.
